Stefani L. Zinerman is a proud daughter of Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn, where she serves as the New York State Assembly Member for the 56th District. Elected in 2020, she serves as Deputy Majority Whip and Chair of Emerging Workforce, championing legislative initiatives that advance equity, workforce development, health equity, housing justice, cultural preservation, and civic engagement. Her passion for public service is rooted in her family’s multi-generational commitment to community leadership. Today, as she begins a new chapter with her fiancé, Mawulekumi Tokponwey, a retired educator and community advocate, she continues her life’s mission: to empower families, strengthen communities, and build a stronger, more just New York.
